Gutter Repair & Refurbishment

When water is left to stand, it will cause all kinds of problems, including the pitting and corrosion of steel gutters. This can cause disruptive water ingress and building fabric damage that can prove expensive to repair.

To keep your gutters clear, we are approved contractors for Giromax, enabling us to use innovative products such as Girosil RC-G, which is designed to preserve commercial gutter and rainwater systems.

To create a waterproof seal, or ‘gutter within a gutter’, we can also install re-lining systems such as Plygene and Unifold. These are fully engineered, rubberised products designed to handle each individual lining application. When installed together, Plygene and Unifold stop any water from penetrating behind or beneath. What’s more, both come with guarantees lasting up to 25 years for Plygene and 20 years for Unifold.

It’s all part of our commitment to working with the latest technology on the market. We carefully choose the best equipment to give you long-term protection from leaking or deteriorating gutters.

Gutter Maintenance FAQs

How often should commercial gutters be cleaned and maintained?

We recommend cleaning and inspecting commercial gutters at least twice a year, ideally in early spring and late autumn, this helps clear winter debris and prepare for heavier rainfall. Properties surrounded by trees or experiencing high rainfall may benefit from more frequent checks.

Why is gutter maintenance important for commercial buildings?

Gutters are your building’s first line of defence against water damage. When rainwater systems are blocked or neglected, it can lead to standing water, corrosion, leaks, and costly structural damage. Regular maintenance ensures your property stays protected year-round.

What are the risks of neglecting gutter maintenance?

Failing to maintain gutters can lead to serious problems like water overflow, which can damage roofs, walls, foundations, and even disrupt business operations. Neglected gutters also become breeding grounds for pests and structural decay.

How do I know if my gutters need to be cleaned?

There are several warning signs that your gutters may need attention:
Visible debris: If you can see leaves, moss, or dirt collecting in your gutters, it’s time for a clean.
Water overflow: Gutters spilling over the sides during rain usually indicates a blockage that is preventing proper drainage.
Sagging or pulling away: The weight of trapped water and debris can cause gutters to sag or detach from the roofline.
Stains or water marks: Dark streaks down exterior walls or water pooling around the foundation often point to overflowing gutters.
Pest activity: Birds, insects, or even plants growing from gutters indicate standing water and debris buildup.
Regular cleaning prevents these issues and helps protect your building from leaks, damp, and structural damage.

What are the most common causes of gutter overflow in commercial properties?

Overflowing gutters are often caused by clogging from leaves, twigs, and debris, poor gutter pitch, or inadequate drainage. These issues prevent water from flowing correctly, allowing it to run down building exteriors, potentially causing structural damage and mould growth.

It’s a level of professionalism that’s not always encountered in the industry. Delivery is always efficient and to a high standard.
