Giving TV viewers access to the world’s biggest summer events

It’s been another busy summer for the NSS Hire team. Our access platforms have provided TV viewers around the world a bird’s eye view of some of the biggest global events – from once-in-a-lifetime historic celebrations, to festivals and international sport competitions.

Access platform hire for the world’s leading broadcasters

As experts in the hire and operation of powered access platforms, we own a wide range of machines – from small cherry-pickers to 70m tall, truck mounted platforms, that can be equipped with 360 degree camera cages. Our teams can often be found on the road throughout the UK and Europe, ensuring broadcasters get the best angles on all the action for audiences at home.

Here’s a round-up of some of our favourite moments from the past few months.

Capturing momentous royal occasions

We were incredibly honoured to be asked to provide access platforms to support the coverage of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ||’s funeral in September 2022.

Watched by 26million viewers in the UK, and several billions more worldwide, this was a request like no other for the Hire team, requiringa rapid response, careful logistics planning, and a discreet and professional presence.

Following the funeral, we were privileged to be invited back to The Coronation of King Charles ||| in May, and the Trooping the Colour June.

A busy summer season

The NSS Hire team can usually be found at some of the biggest events makimg up the UK summer calendar – and 2023 was no exception.

Kicking off with The Boat Race and The Grand National in March and April, the team followed up with a summer of festivals and sporting events, covering the Glastonbury and Isle of Wight Festivals, Royal Ascot and culminating in the excitement of Wimbledon fortnight from the All England Club.

A birdie’s view of every drive and putt

Working alongside the European Tour, NSS Hire, has had the pleasure of helping to bring the summer’s biggest golfing events to fans throughout the world.

Starting with the Porsche European open in Hamburg at the beginning of June, then the British Masters at the Belfry, the 151st Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool Golf Course, and the Horizon Irish Open at the world-famous K Club, our summer of golf finished with the thrill of the Ryder Cup.

The bird(ie)’s eye views of the incredible fairways at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome – and the fantastic win for Team Europe – were live streamed from NSS Hire’s access platforms.
