10 ways we keep communities moving

High Access clients and partners will know that we’re committed to keeping business moving, but our commitment goes beyond that as we also seek to help keep organisations and charities moving forward in whatever way we can. Whether it’s fundraising, supporting partners or offering one of our expert services, we’re proud to have helped a number of worthy causes. Here’s a look at 10 of our highlights…

  1. LandAid
Each year as we head to MIPIM to learn about the industry’s newest and most innovative developments, we always set aside some time to partake and raise funds for the LandAid Tennis Tournament – a charity that works tirelessly to end youth homelessness. 2017 saw our operations director Phil Seaton don his whites and this year CEO Niel Bethell raised a fantastic £2,105 – the most raised by any individual player.
  2. Brainwave
Brainwave has been our nominated charity for a number of years, quite simply because we are in awe of the superb work they do. The charity works with families to deliver home-based therapies that help children with disabilities reach their full potential. A calendar of activity sees us fundraise for them each year with the highlight being the annual Charity Shoot. This year marked our seventh year of sponsorship with a grand total of £50k raised at the event.
  3. Veterans Garage
The Veterans Garage is a brilliant hub for ex-service personnel offering support, welfare and a caring social community. When we heard its roof had collapsed we sent a team of operatives to the site to assess the damage and reinstall safely.
  4. Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital
We were thrilled to support the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital through one of our partners where we donated prizes for its annual Golf Day.
  5. Mustard Tree Manchester
Mustard Tree Manchester is one of the core charities tackling the homeless crisis in Manchester offering support, friendship, connections into work, improvements to health and wellbeing. We have been delighted to offer our maintenance service to a number of its properties to help ensure a safe, warm and welcoming environment for those who need it.
  6. Altrincham Unlimited
When we heard the retail association for Altrincham town centre – Altrincham Unlimited – was struggling to find a partner to help decorate the trees outside Altrincham Market, we were thrilled to step in and offer our services to bring the street to life.
  7. St Ann’s Church
Nestled in the square, St Ann’s Church is one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings. At over 300 years old however, it’s crucial that it’s preserved and maintained to the highest standard. Our at-height operatives are responsible for ensuring the exterior of the building continues to look its best with frequent maintenance works.
  8. Wood Street Mission
Wood Street Mission is a fantastic children’s charity helping children and families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford. We are thrilled to be able to support the charity by taking care of the upkeep of its properties. We conduct annual gutter assessments as well as a number of reactive maintenance jobs on the roofs of its properties.
  9. Hale Business Association
In 2016, we moved our head office to Hale and have quickly become an active member of the business and wider community. We love the community there and were delighted to lend our services to light up the town last year as part of Hale Business Association’s ‘Love Hale this Christmas’ campaign.
  10. Delamere School
Delamere School offers a unique curriculum tailored to support children with learning difficulties. Last year we spread some Christmas cheer as we turned the grounds into a winter wonderland for the pupils and hard-working staff to enjoy.

High Access is now part of NSS, providing building maintenance, window and technical cleaning, platform hire and equipment testing for an altogether better service.
